Robert Allen (1797-1866), son of Joseph Allen (1764-1843) and grandson of William Allen (1711-1799), married Mary "Polly" Alison (1799-1862) in 1818 in Kentucky (Clark County?) and moved to Putnam County, Indiana in 1837 or 38.

Their son Tandy (1832-1922) married Joanna Smith Van Nice (1835-1923) in 1856 and moved to Lucas County, Iowa (near Russell) shortly thereafter.
